2 Romanian Dances, Op. 8a, Sz. 43

Two vigorous Romanian-inflected dances composed 1909–1910, published 1910. Bartók later orchestrated the first dance. Rhythmically driving and technically demanding, these pieces show his mature integration of folk idiom with concert-hall ambition.
