Four piano studies composed in 1915, each based on a melody from Natalie Curtis's 1907 anthology of Native American music \"The Indians' Book.\" The four pieces — described by Busoni as \"four piano studies on motifs from the American Redskins\" — represent an important step toward his concept of Junge Klassizität.
