Suite in G minor

by Louis Couperin

Composed 1650–1661
Works 8

Suite of pieces in G minor from the Bauyn Manuscript — one of the richest key groups, including two unmeasured preludes, allemande, courantes, sarabandes, and the famous Chaconne in G minor. The Chaconne is a large-scale piece of great power and harmonic invention, one of the masterpieces of 17th-century French keyboard music.
