L'Art de toucher le clavecin
Harpsichord method book, first published 1716 (immediately revised and reissued 1717). Beyond its text on technique, ornamentation, touch, and fingering, it contains eight unmeasured preludes — each in the key of one of Couperin's first two books — and an Allemande illustrating the Italianate style.
