Violin Sonata in C-sharp minor, Op. 21
Violin Sonata in C♯ minor for violin and piano, composed 1912. A major chamber work in the late Romantic tradition, combining a demanding and expressive violin part with a rich piano accompaniment. The work is in the tradition of Brahms's violin sonatas — warm in melody, complex in harmony, and finely balanced between the two instruments. One of the most important Hungarian violin sonatas of the early 20th century.
