Choral, cadence et fugato for trombone and piano

A three-section work for trombone and piano (Choral, Cadence, Fugato) composed 1950 as a Conservatoire examination piece. The composer later disowned it but it was published and became a standard trombone recital and examination piece. More substantial and formally ambitious than many of Dutilleux's other Conservatoire exam pieces. Duration approximately 8 minutes.
