Sarabande et cortège for bassoon and piano
A sarabande and cortège for bassoon and piano, composed 1942 as an examination piece for the Paris Conservatoire. Disowned by the composer but widely performed and published by Alphonse Leduc. The sarabande is stately and harmonically rich; the cortège is livelier and more ceremonial. A staple of the bassoon recital repertoire. Duration approximately 7 minutes.
