From the Bohemian Forest (Ze Šumavy), Op. 68 (B. 133)
Six character pieces for piano four hands depicting the South Bohemian landscape — its folklore, mysteries, and moods — composed in 1883–84. The fifth piece, Silent Woods (Klid), became famous in Dvořák's own arrangement for cello and piano. The series includes the mystical By the Black Lake, the atmospheric Witches' Sabbath, and the dramatic From Troubled Times.
