Two Furiants, Op. 42 (B. 85)
Two fiery Czech dances — in D major and F major — composed in 1878 and published the same year. The furiant's characteristic cross-rhythm between 3/4 and 2/4 is fully exploited in both pieces, making them among the most rhythmically demanding of Dvořák's piano miniatures.
