Dolly Suite, Op. 56
Six short pieces for piano four hands, written or revised between 1893 and 1896 for the birthdays and family occasions of Régina-Hélène (Dolly) Bardac, daughter of Fauré's friend Emma Bardac. Fauré gave each piece a descriptive title, unusual for him. First performed by Alfred Cortot and Édouard Risler in 1898; Henri Rabaud orchestrated the suite in 1906.
