Piano Concerto No. 6 in C major
by John Field
Piano Concerto No. 6 in C major (H. 49), composed c.1820. The second of Field's two C major concertos continues the more brilliant, public character of the Fifth while maintaining his characteristic lyrical slow movement. Less frequently performed than the earlier concertos, it nonetheless displays Field's mature orchestral writing and a piano part of polished elegance.
