Piano Sonata in C minor, Hob. XVI:20

One of Haydn's most dramatic sonatas, in the stormy C minor that also produced Beethoven's Pathétique. The opening Moderato is turbulent and chromatic; the Andante con moto is a serene contrast. Haydn dedicated it to Marianne von Martines.
