Piano Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Op. 20
Three-movement sonata in F minor, composed c.1807. Hummel's most dramatic and 'Beethoven-influenced' piano sonata — the minor key, the stormy opening Allegro moderato, and the rhetorical gestures all place it at the transition between Classical and Romantic styles. Dedicated to Clementi.
