8 Préludes
Eight character preludes for piano composed 1928–1929, Messiaen's first published piano cycle. Influenced by Debussy and Ravel but already demonstrating his distinctive harmonic language through modes of limited transposition and impressionistic titles evoking imagery, colour, and states of mind.
