Piano Concerto No. 1 in F major, Op. 45
Piano Concerto No. 1 in F major, Op. 45, composed 1819. Moscheles's first published piano concerto, written in the Classical tradition of Hummel and Mozart with some of the lyrical warmth of the early Romantic style. Elegant and technically brilliant, it shows the twenty-five-year-old composer already with a fully formed pianistic voice. Published in London, where Moscheles had established himself as the leading piano virtuoso of the day. Charming in the first movement, expressive in the Andante, and brilliantly effective in the finale.
