Suite del Ángel
Four pieces from Piazzolla's 'Ángel' series composed between 1962 and 1965: Introducción al Ángel, Milonga del Ángel, Muerte del Ángel, and Resurrección del Ángel. Together they trace an arc from introduction through death to resurrection, with the two milongas framing the violent Muerte. The suite was composed for Piazzolla's Quintet and remains among his most performed chamber music.
