3 Salon Polkas, Op. 7
Three salon polkas composed 1848–54 and published 1855. The polka was the quintessential Czech dance form; Smetana elevated it into an expressive concert piece. The F♯ major and F minor polkas were composed earlier and revised for publication; the E major is newly written.
