Ten stylised Czech folk dances composed 1879, Smetana's greatest piano cycle. Each piece is a concert version of a specific dance type from Czech folk tradition: Furiant, The Little Hen, Oats, The Bear, The Little Onion, Stamping Dance, Hussar, Circular Dance, Rejdovák, Rejdovačka. Written after total deafness; widely considered the pinnacle of Smetana's piano writing.
