Memories of Bohemia in Polka Form, Op. 12 (Souvenir de Bohême)
Two polkas composed during Smetana's years in Sweden (1859–60). Written in longing for his Czech homeland, they are among his most heartfelt pieces. The A minor and E minor polkas represent the mature polka at its most expressive, prefiguring the Czech Dances.
