Rêves (Sny / Dreams)
Six character pieces composed 1874–75, written after Smetana had become completely deaf. Among his greatest piano works, they are large-scale, harmonically bold, and deeply personal. Titles: Bygone Happiness, Consolation, In Bohemia: The Village, At the Castle, The Peasant Woman, Harvest Home. Composed simultaneously with Má vlast.
