Biography

A French organist and composer best known for his cantatas, Clérambault also produced an important collection of organ works — the Premier Livre d'orgue (1710) and Second Livre d'orgue — containing suites for the French Classical organ in the liturgical tradition. His organ suites, with their elegant dialogue between different registration colors, exemplify the French Classical organ school at its most refined.
