Biography
A blind French organist who succeeded Tournemire at Sainte-Clotilde in Paris, Langlais was a prolific composer of over 250 organ works spanning six decades. His music draws on Gregorian chant, Breton folk song, and the French symphonic organ tradition, ranging from the mystical Trois Poèmes Évangéliques to the brilliant Fête. A celebrated improviser and teacher, he toured extensively and influenced generations of American organists.
