Biography
A French pianist and pedagogue who taught for nearly fifty years at the Paris Conservatoire, Le Couppey is best known today for L'Alphabet, Op. 17 — a set of twenty-five short pieces (one per letter, omitting J) designed to introduce young students to varied keys, characters, and figurations.
