Biography
The originator of tintinnabuli style — a compositional method of extreme simplicity based on the simultaneous presence of a tonic triad and a stepwise melodic voice — Part developed this approach after years of silence and study of medieval and Renaissance polyphony. His piano works include Fur Alina, Variationen zur Gesundung von Arinuschka, and Spiegel im Spiegel (in its piano and violin version). His music has achieved extraordinary reach across classical, spiritual, and contemporary audiences.
