Biography
A Belgian pianist and composer whose pseudonym is the reverse spelling of his real surname, Gobbaerts. Best known today for his sets of very easy and melodious studies — particularly Opp. 63, 64, and 105 — which remain widely used in elementary piano teaching for their tuneful character and clear technical objectives. He produced an enormous quantity of salon music and dance pieces during his lifetime, though most are now forgotten.
