Biography

The most prolific composer in history by sheer volume of output, Telemann was during his lifetime more famous than Bach. His keyboard works, though less studied today, include fantasias, suites, and fugues of considerable quality. His Fantaisies pour le clavessin (1732-33) are the most frequently revived of his keyboard pieces.
