Liebestraum

A lyrical, romantic character piece evoking a love dream. Liszt's three Liebesträume are settings of songs in piano transcription form.

Liszt originally composed these as songs for voice and piano before transcribing them for solo piano. The third in A♭ major is one of the most recognizable works in the Romantic piano repertoire. The title and form have since become synonymous with Lisztian Romantic sentiment.
