A Baroque suite of dance movements, typically for keyboard.

Interpretive Guidance

The Italian term for a suite. Bach's six keyboard Partitas (BWV 825–830) are the definitive examples. Each suite consists of a prelude (in various forms) followed by standard dances: Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, and Gigue, with optional additional dances.
