A slow, dignified Baroque dance in triple metre with emphasis on the second beat.
Interpretive Guidance
The emotional centre of the Baroque suite. The stressed second beat is its rhythmic signature. Often the most expressive movement in a suite; ornaments in sarabandes carry particular weight.
