Smooth and connected — notes are played with no gap between them.
Interpretive Guidance
The default mode of melodic playing at the piano. Achieved through careful finger overlap, weight transfer, and (when appropriate) pedal. True legato at the piano requires physical connection between fingers, not merely pedal-assisted blur.
